Three months?!!

I can't believe it has been nearly three months since I last posted! It really doesn't feel that long. Then again, I have been so busy that in a way it feels twice as long!

Those of you who follow my WordPress blog already know that the reason for the massive reduction in blog posts is due to two of my step-children coming to live with us, meaning I am suddenly a full-time step-mum and so have very little spare time on my hands as a result.

However, I am now settling into a routine, so I hope to be able to get this show back on the road fairly soon - please be patient with me!

Although I haven't had much time to go online and blog, I have still managed to find time to stitch (it is, after all, my way of relaxing and managing my pain levels) and so I am sharing some photos of the projects I have completed since 9th February.

I took a short break from the Morgan to stitch Lucie Heaton's Kokeshi doll free CrossStitcher magazine cover kit and liked it so much that I rearranged the colours to stitch two more. Then we had Mother's Day so I made a keyring and a bookmark for my Mum. I also made bookmarks for my step-children and then finished stitching the 1939 Morgan 4-4. I am pleased to report that my father-in-law loved it!

The Forever Friends bear you see above (entitled "To A Special Friend") is a get-well-soon stitch for a family friend, which I have stitched while waiting for Kreinik threads to arrive so I can finish a Mystery Birthday Project for another family friend who will be celebrating her 60th birthday in a couple of weeks. I have also finished a shoe bookmark for myself and started another Forever Friends bear for my step-daughter's birthday in July. Next on the agenda (once I have finished the Mystery Birthday Project) will be Ollie's Christmas Snowman and then I had better start on the kit Jay gave me for my birthday... Phew!

In between all the stitching and hands-on parenting and Court hearings, I have been baking like mad and have been dabbling in breadmaking, which I have thoroughly enjoyed, although it really tires me out. Like everything does these days really...

Anyway, thank you all for your patience. I hope to blog again soon and to get back into a routine with all this stuff!

  1. I love the Kokeshi dolls. I also used to stitch but I would do those large one so it would take me years to finish lol. I like your cute little stitches. I am thinking it will be more doable for me. So, keep your posts coming. I look forward to reading more about your joy of being a new stepmum in a blending family.
