Baking and Stitching

I didn't do very much for Valentine's Day this year because I wasn't feeling too good, but I did manage to make a card for Jay. It took me all morning from about eight fifteen to two pm, but I am pleased with the results. Then last weekend my Mum told me that my sister was in hospital with appendicitis and a close family friend had pneumonia. I immediately put down the Garden Puppies and stitched them both cards. Then, when I picked up the new issue of CrossStitcher I just couldn't resist stitching the mirror pouch free gift. When it was finished I gave it to Izzy and she loved it!

In lieu of Valentine's Day baking, last weekend I decided to make some bourbon biscuits. Who says bourbons have to be rectangular? If you follow that link you can read about my disaster with the other Valentine's baking experiment and the reviews I have done on the books pictured above.

All in all things are looking up on the cross stitch front. As always when I have been away from the needle and thread for a while, I am wondering why it has taken me so long to pick them up again, and now that I have, it will be difficult for me to stop, except that I have to cook dinner and clean the house etc. Oh well. Such is life I suppose!
