International Hermit and Stitch Weekend

I need to do more cross stitching. The problem is that I have buried my current WIP under a pile of other stuff that I have been using more lately, and so when I have the time to sit and stitch I find that I can't be bothered to unearth the Elegant Geisha. What to do....
Well, I have been avidly following other stitchers' progress during the WIPocalypse and have noticed that one or two of them have signed up for something called IHSW. "What the hell is that?" I kept wondering as I read it over and over on various blogs. Then someone left a link to Joysze's Random Ramblings' post about the International Hermit and Stitch Weekend so I opened the link in a new tab to look at when I had finished my reading list and promptly forgot about it. Until this morning when I noticed the tab was open so I had a good old read and decided that this is definitely for me!
So I am now following Joysze and keeping an eye out for the March sign-up page so that I can "hermit and stitch" for the third weekend in March. I'm so excited I can hardly sit still to write this post!
However, the third weekend of March incorporates hubby's birthday and Mothering Sunday (on the same day for goodness' sakes!) so the chances of me hermitting and stitching on the Sunday are minimal, but there's still the Friday and Saturday!
Who else that reads this "Hermits and Stitches"? Is it as much fun as I anticipate? Oh, that's a stupid question: of course it is!
Well, unless I actually manage to get some stitching done before, I'll be back next week for the next WIPocalypse update :-) Look after yourselves and have fun!

WIPocalypse

I'm terrible. I mean really, really, awfully bad. I have only worked for another six hours or so on my Elegant Geisha since I last posted, and I haven't worked on it for nearly a month! I will happily show you my poor progress so far, but can only apologise to everyone for not having done more. I just can't seem to get motivated to pick it up...

I keep getting excited about upcoming events and occasions that I can stitch for, and then when it comes to actually picking up the needle and thread, I find excuse after excuse why I should be doing something else. Ok, so if I don't have a whole morning or a whole afternoon free, then there isn't a lot of point in me picking it up because I won't get very much done, but at least I would get some done!
Hopefully this month will be different and I'll be able to share the completed Geisha with you next month. Hopefully. The next WIPocalypse post is due on Thursday March 8th and I am going to try my hardest to have at least something to show for the month.

Want to know more about the WIPocalypse? Want to join up? Then hop on over to Measi's Musings to read more and to sign up.
